Based in Oguchi-cho, a town in Aichi Prefecture in the Chūbu region, the Japanese company Okuma was founded in 1898 by the inventor Eiichi Okuma. The company was then called OkumaNoodle Machine Co. and was first specialized in the design and sale of noodles making machines. It was not until several years later, around 1918, that the company Okuma will turn towards the production of machine tools of the type lathes. A choice of reorientation of activities kept by the brand to date, manufacturing machining equipment ever more reliable, high-performance and incorporating the latest technological advances. Applying a philosophy called "Single Source", Okuma strives to mainly rely on its own competence in the development and manufacturing of all its hardware and software components. Its digital controls, known under the acronym OSP (OkumaSamplingPathcontrol) and developed in 1963 are an example of the innovative spirit of the brand. Today, Okuma can boast about being among the world leaders in the field of digital control systems. The company exhibits a total mastery of the various electronic, computer and mechanical processes used in the design of machine tools. Moreover, it figures among the pioneering manufacturers in the field of thermal compensation and collision avoidance. Represented worldwide through a very large network of branches and liaison offices, Okuma has established its European headquarters in Krefeld, Germany. The site comprises a showroom, a training center, a spindle repair workshop, conference rooms, as well as ultra modern communication systems for its partners and customers. The group is now called Okuma Corporation since 1991. Several types of machine tools holding the Japanese brand are proposed for sale and resale: CNC lathe, CNC vertical lathe, vertical machining center ,horizontal machining center, turning/milling center, cylindrical grinding machine, and interior grinding machine. The Okuma second-hand machines that go through RDMO workshops are thoroughly checked before being proposed for sale.
