MORI SEIKI
Mori Seiki, today called DMG Mori Seiki, is a Japanese company specialized in the design and marketing of precision machine tools. The company was founded in 1948. At its creation, the company was called Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. and was chiefly engaged in the manufacturing and sale of machines dedicated to the textile sector. It was in Yamatokoriyama city, Nara Prefecture, on the island of Honshu in Japan, that the company Mori Seiki was created. Only ten years after its creation, the Japanese company Mori Seiki put an end to its activities in the design and sale of machines dedicated to the textile industry. In fact, it shifted its production towards machine tools such as high speed precision lathes that it began exporting in 1960. The beginning of the following decade saw the inauguration of the Iga Plant. Later, Mori Seiki started the manufacturing and sale of vertical machining centers, and this since 1981. The first Mori Seiki horizontal machining centers came out of the production line two years later. During the same decade, the Mori Seiki Group inaugurated its Nara plant, which also serves as a head office. More recently, the company Mori Seiki has officially changed its name. Since 2013, the group is called DMG Mori Seiki. The machine tools designed, produced, and marketed by Mori Seiki are famous throughout the world for their technical nature, accuracy, quality, and reliability. These machines are, for most models, available on the second-hand market. The Mori Seiki second-hand machine tools that go through RDMO workshops undergo extensive checking operations to guarantee the highest possible quality. The Mori Seiki catalog of machine tools includes, among others, horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes, turning/milling centers, universal lathes, production lathes, vertical lathes, automated lathes, universal milling machines, and high speed precision cutting centers.
