second-hand machine tools in various fields, ranging from aerospace to energy, as well as automotive, agriculture, molding, building and medical industry, today Hardinge owns plants in Switzerland (St.Gallen and Bienne), in China (Shanghai), and in Taiwan (Nan Tou City), in addition to its main site and its headquarters located in Elmira, NY, and its offices in England and Germany. With a turnover of $334 million in 2012 (divided up among North America 25%, Europe 36%, the remaining 39% were recorded in China and elsewhere), the Hardinge group employs 1.400 highly skilled employees.
